Good Works Doesn't Get You To Heaven

Isaiah 64:6, "All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags..."

Titus 3:5, "Not by works of righteousness (being "good") which we have done, but according to His Mercy He saved us."

The LORD's mercy is our salvation. He paid the price of taking past, present, and future mankind's sins upon Him. Those (who in their hearts believing and asking Christ to come into their heart) will live forever with our Awesome, Almighty, Creator, Savior, Holy Father GOD!

I Thank GOD for His Mercy in Answering Prayers

John 14:13, "Whatever you ask in My Name believing, you shall receive that the Father may be glorified in the Son."

I Thessalonians 5:17 tells us to, "...pray without ceasing."

Since the fracturing of my hip back in October, I have been so thankful for its complete healing! I had since been in prayer for the medical expenses to be paid and my policy has now done so! Many months of prayer not just from myself, but I recently had my Bible class ladies pray, my Sunday School class pray, and the Elders if my church! GOD is so merciful in hearing our prayers and He has His timing for His reasons. I can't help but smile, for the pay off has come just in time for my birthday! :-) Thank you, LORD, for a great birthday present!

Romans 12:12, Ephesians 6:18, and Colossians 4:2 "Be persistent in prayer and keep alert as you pray, giving thanks to GOD!"

Christ's Mercy

Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of GOD is eternal life in Christ Jesus our LORD!"

What mercy, that GOD would come in the flesh to take the sins of mankind upon His perfect body! All you need do is accept Jesus' free gift of salvation!

GOD's Mercy Abounds

GOD's mercy is present even when we are in times of trial. We are limited, He is limitless! We are finite, He is infinite! We know nothing compared with Him knowing everything...even before it happens! Turn your heartache over to our Awesome, Almighty, Creator, Savior, Holy Father GOD and see the light of His glory and not the darkness of a wicked world that will one day go out of existence. 

2 Peter 3:10, "The Day of the LORD will come like a thief (when no one expects) in which the heavens will pass away and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up." Just imagine, every atom in the earth and entire universe exploding at once! The scientists have found that each atom has a violent vibrating mesh and they don't know what keeps the atom from flying apart on its own! I know! GOD. One day He will speak His WORD and each atom in existence will let go! Then 2 Peter 3:10 will take place. Come to Jesus Christ and find a peace that goes beyond understanding. (Philippians 4:7) GOD's mercy abounds for you.

Mercy Works Both Ways

Mercy is greatly displayed by what Jesus Christ did for man on the cross to save mankind from sin. The thief on the cross ask for Christ to remember him and Christ told him, "Today you will be with Me in Paradise." (Luke 23:41-42)

The world can't understand why the worst person in the world can receive salvation in the last few minutes of life while a person who has been "good" all of their life will not receive salvation if they have not received Christ as their Savior.

Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of GOD."

Because of His mercy to you, show mercy to others in assisting their needs. For when you do, you do it to Christ. (Matthew 25:37-40)

The Bread of Life

Man's mercy is shown in feeding the poor and hungry. This sustenance is temporary. But, Almighty GOD through Jesus Christ, Who is the Bread of Life, will last throughout eternity. 

Love Shows Mercy

Almighty GOD's mercy was shown to this world when He became a perfect Man and took upon Himself the sins of mankind! Now that is true Love!

Mercy

Matthew 5:7, "Blessed are the merciful for they will be shown mercy."

Psalm 41:1, "Blessed is he who has regard for the weak, the LORD delivers him in (his) times of troubles."

So true is the saying, "Treat others as you want to be treated."

Luke 10:27, Christ spoke about what was written in the Law (the ten commandments), "Love the LORD your GOD with all your heart, soul, strength, and mind; and love your neighbor as yourself." In doing so this would show mercy to all you come into contact with. This means showing mercy to those who accept it as well as to those who don't. This will bring GOD's mercy upon you in ways the unbelieving don't understand.

Receive Christ's Righteousness

Matthew 4:4, "Man cannot live by bread alone, but by every WORD that precedes from the mouth of GOD!"

I Corinthians 11:24-26, "For he who eats of this bread and drinks from this cup shall proclaim the LORD until He comes again." For your salvation, Jesus' body was given for you and His blood was poured out for you. He has paid your penalty for sin and by Him you are made righteous. All you need do is accept Him as your LORD and Savior!

Seek First the Kingdom of His Righteousness

Matthew 6:33, Luke 12:31, "And all these other things will be added unto you." What other things? All the things we worry and fret about are the "things" we need not worry about. The cure for anxiety is found in Matthew 6:25-34. 

Matthew 6:34, "So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will take care of itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Trust in the LORD Jesus Christ and His righteousness for "He knows and cares for the least sparrow that falls from the sky unto death. How much more He cares for His own (us!)"(Matthew 10:29-31)

Matthew 10:32-33, "Therefore everyone who confesses Me (Jesus) before men, I will also confess him before My Father Who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me (Jesus) before men, I will also deny him before My Father Who is in heaven." Don't lose so great a salvation and spend eternity in the Lake of Fire paying for your sins. Almighty GOD is Love, but He is also righteous and MUST punish sin. Allow Christ to take your sin and therefore make you righteous before our Almighty Father GOD! Don't be like:

James 1:6, "One who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed about by the wind."    

Knowing GOD's Righteousness

The Love of knowing Christ's righteousness is like flowing fountains of water coming up out of a desert to a thirsty person! There is no end to His abundance for us!

Righteousness That Only Jesus Can Satisfy

Isaiah 40:8, "The grass withers, the flower fades, but the WORD of GOD abides for ever!"

Even the beauty of this fallen world dies, but with Christ on the New Earth, it shall go on forever!

I have a rose bush where the buds start out a florescent orange, then goes to a hot pink, and finally white as the petals begin to fall!

  

Each flower goes through all of the colors!

It's so amazing to watch the transformation

Our lives are the same. At birth we begin our transformation until death comes. Praise our Awesome, Almighty, Creator, Savior, Holy Father GOD our last transformation will be forever with Him where there will be no more death, sorrow, tears, or pain. For, the former things will have passed away! (Revelation 21:4)

Righteousness Verses Self-Righteousness

Isaiah 64:6, "...our righteousness is as filthy rags..." Our only hope  is faith in Jesus Christ, Who can cleanse us and bring us into GOD's Presence (commentary) see Romans 3:10, "There is no one righteous, not even one."  It is Christ's righteousness in and through us by the Holy Spirit. Praise Him for His infilling! Thank You, Jesus, for Your righteousness in me and not any of myself.
