Matthew 7:21, Jesus taught, "Not everyone who says, 'LORD, LORD' will enter into the kingdom of heaven, but only he (she) who does the will of My Father Who is in heaven."
Salvation is not of works, but is a free gift. So many people think they can "work their way" into heaven- Satan's lie!
Ephesians 2:8-9, "For it has been by grace you have been saved through faith- and this not of yourselves it is the gift of GOD, not by works, so that no one can boast."
Continuing in Matthew 7:22-23, "Many will say to Me on that day, 'LORD, LORD, did we not prophesy in your name, drive out demons, and perform miracles? Then I (Jesus) will tell them plainly, 'I (Jesus) never knew you. Away from Me, you evildoers!"
The commentary shares, "Jesus exposed those people who sounded religious but had no personal relationship with Him."
Matthew 7:28-29, "...the crowds were amazed because He taught with Authority and not as the teachers of the law."
Are you trying to work your way to heaven?
Isaiah 64:6 shares, "...all of our works are as filthy rags." When works are done to receive something in return, it is not the same when we allow the Holy Spirit to do His work through us. That can only be done when you know Him personally! Do you know Almighty GOD! You can by realizing you are a sinner and Christ died for your sins. Ask Him to forgive your sins and come into your heart. Watch what happens when you do this with sincerity, He is building His solid foundation to which you will stand with Him forever; now and in Eternity!
