Spinach Delight

Sorry, I have no picture!
This is delicious! Yes, spinach can be yummy!

Ingredients:
2 boxes frozen spinach
1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
1 c. Bisquick
1/2 c. canola oil
2 eggs (you can put 3,4 for quiche effect)
1/2 onion (more or less to taste)
2/3 to 3/4 c. shredded cheddar cheese

Rinse and mash out all of the liquid in spinach.
Hand mix ingredients well! Spoon into mini- cupcake pans (or you can pour it into a pie pan. I spray the pan with Pam before putting in the batter.

Variations can be done with your choice of shredded cheeses, slivered almonds.

Bake in 350 degree pre-heated oven. Mini- cupcake pans 25-30 minutes, pie pan 35-40 minutes. Let your nose be a timer too, ha! When you begin to smell it, check it! I place the little cakes on a cooling rack for a few minutes to let them get crunchy. You can also refrigerate and eat them cold! Enjoy!

Recipe was given to me by a dear teacher friend, Regina!

Loss of My Sammy Dog

What a beautiful little puppy of 8 weeks old. I rescued him from the local humane society.

He always wanted to play with my pillows!

You couldn't eat anything unless Sam was there to get a bite of your tasty treat!

He trained so easily to his crate. I don't know how he could maneuver with all of the stuff he would drag into it!

I like being in this dog's house!

He didn't like the "Gentle Leader" leash at first, but soon grew to not give it any mind. He's trying to hide it in this picture, ha!

The joy of your dog awaiting your return can't be matched. He's always watching, waiting, and joyful when you come through the door! Woman's best friend never holds any grudges!

The later years of life for dog as well as man brings about the decrepit pain of the joints and misalignment of the bones. But, my Sammy gave it all it was worth to get up and move about until the end.

The aging of life soon brings one to sleep most of the time in life's natural relief for pain. I had him on joint meds, but it soon was to no avail.

My loving sweet Sammy soon gave up on life. For several days I had realized Dolly (my shepherd, chow, pit bull mix) had been laying back to back with Sam throughout the day for giving her "fellow" dog comfort. He hadn't eaten for several days, not even from the palm of my hand.
*
The next morning he just could no longer stand up. He had no strength and mostly, no more will. I was able to lift him onto his sleeping mat. I called Nellie in tears and anguish to see if Jim had left to work yet. He hadn't. So, he came down and helped me put Sam into the backseat of my truck.
*
I cried all the way over to my vet of 28 years. Tom had always been there for me. It was 7:45 A.M. The office staff I have known for years were there to help me.  Sammy whined. I took it as him knowing he wasn't going to go back home with me. Tom stepped in and checked Sam out. Through my tears, I told him how drastic Sam's health had gone down in the past several days. Tom raised the table to my level of sitting in the chair next to Sam's laying on the table. I wrapped my arms around my buddy dog as I told him how much I loved him. Tom had walked out and came back in. I could tell his eyes had swelled with tears. I laid my head in Sam's back as Tom gave him a shot of Valium. Sammy laid his head across my arm as I encased him within my hug, placing my face into his furry back. He let a sigh of relief as Tom gave him the shot which would stop his heart. All I could do was cry as I felt the weight of Sam's head fall heavier onto my arm in death. I kissed the top of his head saying, "I'll see you on the other side, Sammy."
*
In the book of Romans chapter 8:19-27 speaks of GOD's Creation and the future glory of all of that creation, "The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of GOD to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it in hope that THE CREATION ITSELF WILL BE LIBERATED FROM ITS BONDAGE OF DECAY AND BROUGHT INTO THE GLORIOUS FREEDOM OF THE CHILDREN OF GOD!"
*
We will see our animals again for our Christ and GOD have created them all to give Him glory.
*
So, Sammy, I will see you again! As in the Rainbow poem for animals, you are awaiting me to cross over that bridge and enter into our Creator GOD's heaven together! Praise be to our Awesome, Almighty, Creator, Savior, Holy Father GOD!

I Glorify You My Awesome, Almighty, Creator, Savior, Holy Father GOD!

Praise you, Almighty GOD for knowing me before Your creation of the world and universe!
Praise you, Awesome GOD for allowing me to be a part of Your Forever Kingdom!
Praise you, Jesus for taking my sin upon you so I can be in Your Perfection for Eternity!
Praise you, Holy Spirit for Your Presence in me, guiding me through this temporary world to Your Eternal Heaven!

Praise GOD from Whom all blessings flow.
Praise Him ye creatures here below.
Praise Him above ye Heavenly hosts.
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost! Amen!

This praise is so because GOD incarnated Himself in the virgin, Mary to become the sacrifice for mankind's sins.

Angels We Have Heard on High

What an awesome experience it must have been for the shepherds in the fields with their flocks that night when the angels appeared announcing the birth of the Christ Child! How much more so when the angels began singing praises to Almighty GOD!

Away in a Manger

Almighty GOD born in a stall of animals. Did the animals know who the Christ Child was? Mary knew who He was. Did the shepherds know who He was? Joseph knew who He was. Did the wise men know who He was? God warned the wise men in a dream to not go back the way they came and not to report to King Herod where the Christ Child was.
*
What a mystery that GOD Almighty would become a man. The perfect GOD-Man. What a sacrifice for the redemption of mankind, those who would accept His death on the cross for their sins. Only GOD Almighty could do this. Thank you Jesus for Loving me with such a Love, only You could have this kind of Love for man. Praise you Father GOD that we will spend Eternity learning of Your greatness that we now can't begin to understand. Merry Christmas!

No Room in the Inn

GOD was incarnated as a Man, not in a populated center for all the world to see. The GOD-Man was born in a stall among the lowly animals. His first coming was to pay the penalty for mankind's sins. His second coming will be in Glory, Power, and Judgment. Our first birth had us born in sin. Our second birth is that unto Eternal salvation. I pray this season of looking back to the Blessed Christ Child leads to the joy of your salvation. For soon those who belong to our LORD will receive the rebirth into a New Body at His coming for His Church!

What Does Being Thankful Mean?

We are coming up on that time in the year when many get a four day vacation. What does being thankful mean? To many it has to do with all of the accumulation of worldly possessions, celebrating that with family and friends with all sorts of food.
*
To others, they look to the time of the Pilgrims who came to America and were thankful for surviving the dangerous journey that many did not, or died thereafter due to sickness. (Not taking in mind their Christian freedom to worship Jesus Christ as they felt led of the Holy Spirit rather than being told how to by a government or religious system.)
*
But, to those who know our Savior and LORD Jesus Christ, it has to do with salvation. Christianity is wholly and totally separate from "religion."  It isn't a religion. It is the Truth, Way, and Light not beholding to man's world religions' philosophies.
*
Thanksgiving Day is a day to thank our Awesome, Almighty, Creator, Savior, Holy Father GOD; for the blessings He has bestowed upon each of us personally and individually, beginning with salvation.
*
Those who may not know this, read the book of John in the New Testament of the Holy Bible. You are the one to make your choice to accept or reject the greatest "thankful" man could ever have. When you do accept, the greatest thing happens in your life; GOD reveals Himself to you! This is my greatest thanksgiving!

Where's Our Nation Headed?

It's a historical fact that before every past civilization fell, their civilization had become so greedy and demoralized, it left them vulnerable for other civilizations to come in and conquer them.
*
America is now at that point of decline. No longer does most of its citizens hold to the moral values this country was set upon. No longer does its enemies fear invading and blowing up its buildings by flying jets into them, but now it has a leader that bows before its enemy who's gotten America so indebted to them, they are about to cut off any more loans! If that's not bad enough this same leader is "in bed" with another enemy, Russia. His video/audio comment was caught on tape of him patting our enemy on the shoulder promising to take care of "it" when he was re-elected.
*
I can't understand why this man has not had treason brought against him for what he has done, though he continues to blame it on the previous president. I would think by now the present population would not be so stupid to keep believing this excuse for everything that goes wrong in his administration!
 *
But, as bad as it is, it took a worse population to vote him back in. Do they not realize another name for Progressive is Communist!  His beliefs go completely against our original constitution! Another reason for our country's decline and call for treason against him!
*
The Happy note about this is the Bible has predicted all of this in quite detail thousands of years ago! The Book of Revelation in the Holy Bible has every detail! For those who are Christian, they have the Holy Spirit revealing to them these end time prophecies. Those that don't know Christ as their personal Savior, it is not revealed to them.  GOD's WORD says, "To them it is nonsense." (I Cor, 1:18) Christians ask them to seek out the LORD before it is too late!
*
The only thing keeping the anti-christ from appearing on scene is the presence of Christ's Church and America's standing in the world.   Revelation doesn't mention America, therefore its superpower status has to be removed to that of a third world power. I believe this present administration is set in place to do that.
*
Christians, be ready for the Trumpet Call and the calling of, "Come up hither." (Which is a phrase for the Rapture!) Sad to say, those who have not accepted Christ as their Savior will not hear the most wonderful sound bringing an event that man could never imagine. "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard nor had it entered the heart of man what GOD has planned for those that belong to the LORD."  (I Cor. 2:9)

Renew Us LORD GOD That We May See Your Glory

O Mighty GOD, let Your Revival Break out in America!

Let Your Holy Wind come upon us, O LORD. Open the eyes of those who refuse to see You. Open up the ears of those who refuse to hear You (Mark 8:18.) May they see and hear that we don't struggle with the things of this earth, but we struggle with evil and principalities in high places (Ephesians 6:12.)
*
Holy Spirit, come as America's Mighty Rushing Wind as You did at Pentecost (Acts 2:2!) Let Your Holy Angels come in their legions (Matthew 26:63) to uplift Your Church to go before It that our Armor of GOD will be upon us in Your Strength!
*
Your Church is praying, LORD, in Your Name, Jesus that Your Will for America will come about On Tuesday's Presidential and Congressional elections. You have said, "Where there are two or three gathered together in my
Name there I Am with you." (Matt 18:20)
*
II Chronicles 7:14 Says:
"If my People who are called by my Name will humble themselves, PRAY, SEARCH for Me, and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear (their prayer) from Heaven, forgive their sins, and HEAL THEIR LAND!"
*
LORD, I pray You hear Your Church and heal our land!

My Prayers for the Northeast!

May the Lord hold in His arms every one in the northeast who have been in the path of Hurricane Sandy.

I pray the country comes together to assist the states that need restoring of the necessities for life and spirit.
*
I remember all of the flooding, downed power lines, debris that had been blown all over when I lived in the Florida Keys. We went through so many hurricanes there! What was so unusual, was when the eye of the hurricane came over us. It went from a deafening wind to complete silence. The silence was almost as deafening as what we had been hearing for 6-8 hours! After living where I am now for 29 years, I had almost forgotten the fear until it occurred here when three in a row happened a few years back. I'm sure many in the northeast had not experienced this before! I know it had to be really fearful for them! May the LORD reveal His purpose in this to those who went through it.
*
Psalm 119:67,75 speaks of discipline, "Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep Your WORD...I know, O LORD, that Your judgments are right, and that in faithfulness You have afflicted me."
*
People have one of two routes to go when affliction occurs: they turn to GOD or they turn away from GOD. I pray many, if not all, will turn to Almighty GOD which will bring their renewal even better than it was before. The LORD was surely our anchor that held us to the Solid Rock (Jesus!)

Back to Normal

Back in the swing of things!

I'm glad they don't swing on the blinds, ha! Katy decided to follow Cody's lead. They have healed well from their operations and are back to being their playful 7 month old selves, lol!

The Healing of Youth

Getting Over the Surgery!

After Monday's surgery, Katy was wanting to play, but realized she would tire soon and napped on top of her favorite chair!

Cody also realized he wasn't quite up to playing as much! This is Xena's bed! I had never seen Cody rest on it before!

Xena didn't mind sharing it with him!

I Can't Help It

Rip, Romp, Chew, and Lick!

Cody decided to surprise "attack" Katy when she was sleeping!

Realizing she didn't want to play "fight" He began to caress her back to sleep.

However, you know ladies can change their minds! Katy now catches Cody while he was sleeping!

Katy chooses to sleep on her window seat. It's pretty hard to be caught off guard here!

Cody would rather wait until later when I remove the window seat and close the blinds, ha!
*
No matter what, they get along so well with all of their joyful play!

Best Fragrance in the Night

NIGHT JASMINE
The fragrance is so strong and concentrated, you can't breathe it in too long without getting a headache! It's sweet smelling perfume permeates the night and drifts on the cool dewy air.
*
The moths are all about it in the dark, but they quickly disappear when light appears.
*
The blossoms don't last but a night or two, but the fragrance continues to linger in the foyer. even entering the house when the door is opened.

Cody and Katy

From not much bigger than an ink pen with blue eyes (4 1/2 weeks old)

To yellow eyes and 3 times the size!

Notice Cody's (black kitty) white Manchu whiskers!
Now almost 7 months old, the brother and sister kittens are a bundle of energy! I can hear their scampering all over the house chasing each other in play!
*
The dogs come flying out into the den to get away from their crazy game of tireless chase! In two weeks they have a visit to their vet that will probably take away some of the rambunctiousness!

Xena the Spoiled

I met Xena when I took Gracie to be groomed. My groomer had temporarily taken her to save her from going to the pound. (The Bull Mastiff rescue was also at limit and could take no more.)  She asked me if I would like to adopt her due to her circumstances of no longer being able to be taken care of by her original owner. She was just a year old and seemed confused with her swapping around in homes. We immediately bonded!

She was immediately accepted by my other 3 dogs, 3 birds, and cat. The initial introduction went well as though she had always been with us all!
*
Her vet records happen to be with the same vet I have gone to for the past 27 years! A short time after having her spayed and micro chipped, I took her to the same obedience class my other dogs had gone to. I quickly found out she had already had training and even responded to silent hand signals to the commands!

Xena is a true joy. She's slow paced as I am myself! She does like to run full blast around my large fence enclosed yard. However, I quickly found out I couldn't trust her to be out without me being there, for with her mass, she would quickly push under the chain length fencing and head off chasing any of the wild animals we have in Florida!
*
She began to have a mind of her own when I would try to get her to come back inside with the other dogs! So, I found a really great low calorie snack to entice her with! Now all I have to do is say energetically, "Let's go get a goody!" All four can't get to the door soon enough, ha!
*
Her favorite place is to lay under my feet or in my lap (98 pounds!) She is always courteous to wait for my signal to do so. She steps ever so gently with one foot on the seat of my chair and then lifts herself to lay on the arm of the chair with hardly any of her weight on me!
*
Another joy of the creation of our GOD!

Dolly Doodle All My Day

What a Beautiful Little Puppy!

One of my friends in the office at school told me her son's dog had puppies he was trying to find homes for. He was having difficulty when people found out they were pit bull/shepherd/chow mix. She was afraid to turn them over to the Humane Society for fear of them being "put down" because of their breed mix. So, I went over for a visit and of course fell in love with a female pup who would soon become known as Dolly! She was like a little rag doll, you just wanted to always hold and squeeze on her (as you can see in the picture!)

As I have always done with all of my dogs, Dolly found herself being taken to obedience training school. She did well, passing her sit, stay, come, leave it commands. When she was 6 months she was spayed and micro chipped.
*
Now at five years old, I'm having to remind her of some of those commands now that my two orphaned/adopted kittens are exciting her to chase them! When she gets reprimanded, you can see the "sheepish" grin as her bottom lip drops to show her lower gum line, ha! I also keep her on a leash when she hasn't kept the command, later letting her loose to which she then behaves herself.
*
She is very loving and has no behaviors associated with aggression (even with the kittens, her chasing is play befitting that of playing with the other dogs.)
*
I did notice one characteristic that goes with the chow. One day Dolly let a yawn so long, her tongue came out and way back where you could hardly see was a black spot the size of your pinkie fingernail. As you see in her picture she has more of a shepherd look with the chow color.
*
All of my dogs have been rescues. Sam from the dog shelter, (Gracie being the exception, from a family friend), Dolly especially from being taken to the Humane Society, and Xena from being sent to the Humane Society to which she would have been put down due to the cost of keeping her there. Xena was given up during the time of a severe economic crises and even the Mastiff rescue were full and could no longer take any in. The LORD has surely blessed me with His creatures that always never cease to amaze me with their affection. As the Dog Whisperer says,  make sure you are the pack leader!

Max the Maximillion

I one day received in the mail a notice of a bird auction. It mentioned all kinds of birds! When I got to the large County owned warehouse, I couldn't believe the hundreds of birds! I started walking around when I finally came upon the macaws. They were in big flight cages where they could fly from one side to the other. I noticed on the label the number 2 had been "x'ed" out and replaced with 1 on the tag. When I approached, I said, "Hello!" He flew across the cage right up to me and replied, "Hello!" I knew right then, he was meant for me. I didn't follow the auction around to each cage and the bidding on them. I stayed in front of "Max's." When they finally made their way around to Max's cage, the bidding began.

People were not bidding very high because of the "pair" of birds that were in most of the cages. Their bid would be doubled for the two birds. There were nesting boxes, so you couldn't see some of the birds. Most bids didn't go over $500.00 for being doubled to $1,000.00. My bid got to $800.00 and it stood at that with no other challenges. "Sold! That will be $1,600.00 please." To which I replied, "No! There's only one bird in this cage!" When they verified it, it didn't matter the protest by the other bidders! He had already said, "Sold!" I got my carrier. Then Max and I headed straight for my vet (which I had already set the appointment time!) I had already gotten Jerry from Dr. Miller.  He had been afraid I may have gotten more than I could handle. Max has proved to be quite the opposite! He said Max was really good parrot. Max let him turn him every which-away checking under his wings, around his tail, and in his mouth! Max got a clear bill of health. (Dr. Miller had taken him into another room to draw blood. When he came back with Max, Max acted as though nothing had happened.
*
He is so funny! When I pass by their room, he'll call out, "Hey, Baby!" To which Cuddle Bird replies, "What ya doin'?" I had gone in their room with their fruit one morning as I sang and danced in my nightgown. As I was singing, Max replied, "I don't wanna hear that!" LOL!  I've said that to him when I have gone in to see why he's been squawking. Usually it's because he sees a turtle outside crawling along the fence or someone on the back road at the back of my property. Just yesterday I was telling Max as I uncovered his cage from the night, "Jesus loves you. GOD created you just for me!" To which he replied, "I know!" HA! I have said that many times to him when he's been saying, "Max is a pretty bird!"
*
Parrots are just so amazing! You never know what they are going to come out with! Every day is a surprise.

My Cute Little Cuddle Bird

Cuddles came to me by the LORD's guidance! I was on the Kindergarten playground with my class when one of the children called out! When I looked, this little bird was sitting on one of my student's shoulder! I went over and it immediately hopped onto my finger. I called all of the kids to line up and we went inside. I found a white paper sack and put him in it. We only had a few minutes before going home at the end of our day. As soon as they did. I called my vet to bring him by to be checked out. He was such a young bird, his feet were still transparent. The scales of his feet had not yet begun to form. My vet told me he was about 3 months old.  The picture below is when Cuddles was about 3 years old.

A hurricane had recently skirted our Florida coast with some high winds that caused the school system to close. It must have turned over somebody's outside aviary that housed him.

Cuddles is now 11 years old. He never really grew to the full size that most of your cockatiels grow. He talks a lot! Some of the things he says is: Cuddles is a pretty bird. Where's Cuddles? Peek-a-boo! Cuddles wants to go nite-nite. What ya doin'. (There's more.) He loves to get sprayed with warm water! He flaps his wings gibbering the hold time, ha! He will only eat his Harrison's small grain food. Occasionally he will eat some romaine lettuce or apple. But many times when I clothes pin it to his cage, he ignores it. He's a happy little bird. Many times throughout the day he starts his chattering and whistling which "wakes up" the other two parrots and gets them to start yakking and whistling. I praise our GOD for the beautiful animals He has given us! I'm assured in my heart they will be with us in GOD's Eternity to praise our Almighty GOD along with us!

From Pup to Senior Lady

Gracie was 3 months old when we got her from a friend. She was my mom's dog even though I claimed her too, ha!

She is Lhasas-Opsah with Poodle-terrier mix. She was such a cute looking little "mop!" LOL!

Because her hair grows so long so quickly, I have to have her groomed every 5-6 weeks. In the summer I have her groomed down to the shortest clip. In the winter it is one step up from the summer cut. On cool days I will put a sweater on her to go outside. Her pretty black ears are shown in this younger picture.

12 years later she is just as spunky as she was as a puppy! The only change is the gray hair, as in us all!

From Kit to Older Cat

Sarah came to my house when she was about eight months old. She didn't like being inside that much, but soon began to stay inside longer each day. One of her favorites spots to sit was on top of the music books on the piano!

In her older years she spends most of her time snoozing (that is when my adopted kittens leave her alone!) She is now 14 years old as is Sam my dog! She will only visit with me once I have put the kittens in their 7' x 3' kennel at night. Then she comes in to get her affection from me. Sometimes at night when I am asleep, she will come into my bedroom, jump up on my bed to get a pet; then she will go roam the house or sit on her window seat overlooking the moon lit yard.
