Matthew 6:1, "BEWARE of practicing your righteousness before men to be noticed by them; otherwise you have no reward with your Father who is in heaven." Self-righteousness is a sin of not honoring GOD, but putting yourself before Him.
We who have been made righteous in GOD the Father's eyes because of what Jesus, GOD the Son did for us on the cross should give all glory to our Almighty Creator GOD. It is not us, but Him Who we allow to work through us. GOD the Holy Spirit gives us the choice. Choose righteousness, not self-righteousness!
