Ephesians 6:1-4, "Children, obey your parents in the LORD for this is right. 'Honor your father and mother' which is the first commandment with a promise 'that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.'
"Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the LORD."
Promises from GOD occur not just for the children, but also the parents. For the children obeying their parents, it is a gift of a long life. (Ephesians 6:4) For the parents, proper training leads their children to not forget it when they are older. "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not turn from it." (Proverbs 22:6) That also works in reverse! If children have parents that don't teach them right from wrong, they will be led astray! It is sad many children today don't have the responsibility to make good choices because they were not taught by parents being good examples for them. To those who have, they are a blessing to their parents. Are you an honorable child to your heavenly Father? Do you live the life Christ Jesus gave as an example for you to live? Honor your heavenly Father and the Love He has for you to be with Him for all eternity. Come to the salvation He has for you through Christ Jesus paying your penalty for sin and begin being taught by your Father GOD!
