Eye For Eye

Matthew 5:38-42, "You have heard it said, 'Eye for eye, tooth for tooth' but I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.

"If someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. If someone forces you to go a mile, go with him two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you."

Our first reaction when we are offended is to retaliate. Instead, Jesus said, "do good to those who hate you." (Luke 6:27) Our desire should be to forgive as Jesus forgave. In fact, Jesus said,  "If you do not forgive others their sins, your Father (in Heaven) will not forgive your sins." (Matthew 6:15) You know what that means! Jesus died for our sins and all who believe in Him will be saved. "Believe in the LORD Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household!" (Acts 16:31)

Everything that happens in our lives is to turn us toward our Loving GOD, whether it is of good or things that are bad. GOD is Good and in Him their is no evil. "GOD is Light and in Him there is no darkness." (I John 1:5) Light represents purity, goodness, truth, holiness. Darkness represents evil and sinfulness.

Sometimes the LORD allows things to happen to bring us to recognize He will provide our needs (I Timothy 6:17), but He is not the one who does the evil. Satan is waiting like an angel of light to lead us astray! (II Corinthians 11:14)

Everything that happens in our lives has a purpose!
