Cool Thoughts for a Hot Day

I'm not sure where this govt. is leading our economy, but I leave it up to the LORD! Prayfully it won't wreck our retirements too badly!

Hi Again,
Yea, just about the time things seem to be settling down, they seem to be heating back up again!!
I read a very good quote today in a book I am reading on prayers and thought it perfect for the things that are happening today.

It is by Eugene Peterson (He is a Pastor, scholar, writer and poet)

"Far more of our nation's life is shaped by prayer than is formed in legislation....The single most important action contributing to whatever health and strength there is in our land is prayer".

I have to say I believe that to be so, especially since it says in Chronicles
"If my people shall humble themselves and pray...

I was shocked by that the first time I heard it!!

God has it all under control, and our job is just to do what Matt. 6:33 says, to seek first the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto us. He is plenty able to take care of us.

Love ya, Nellie

Thank you, Nellie! I surely have many prayers for the nation and its people going up and written daily in my prayer journal! It still is good to hear encouraging words!
Love to you, Susan

Hi Susie,

I love that picture you have there with the footprints in the sand. Very cool.

It is great to know so many good and righteous people are praying for a good outcome. The Lord is aware of us and He will protect us from evil. By the same token He expects us to do our part in being wise with our resources and prepared for the famine so to speak. The fat years are over and the lean ones are here. And as Nellie said, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you."

Keeping our eyes fixed on HIM, we will be OK.

I hope Sylvia is home now! Glad you are enjoying your retirement. It is true we are a busy family.

These past several posts have been me catching up. On JUNE activities. Right now we have been home just working for days on end. Leaving this coming Saturday for another adventure in Utah. Ugh! I want to go but I do not want to take any photos so I have to blog about them. Just kidding, I'll do it.

You take good care and enjoy each new day!

Love and hugs and thanks for always stopping by, you are the best. Bonnie
