John 12:1-11, "Jesus arrived at Bethany where Lazarus lived, whom Jesus raised from the dead. While Jesus reclined at the table with Lazarus, Mary took a pint of pure perfume and poured it on Jesus' feet and wiped His feet with her hair. The house was filled with its fragrance Judas Iscariot, who would later betray Jesus, objected saying, 'This perfume could have been sold and the money given to the poor. It was worth a year's labor!' He did not say this because he was concerned for the poor, but because he was a thief. As a keeper of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it. Jesus replied, 'Leave her alone. It was intended for her to save this perfume for the day of My burial. You will always have the poor with you, but you will not always have Me.' A large crowd of Jews found out Jesus was with Lazarus and came to see him and Jesus Who raised him from the dead. The chief priests planned to kill Lazarus as well, for on account of him many of the Jews were putting their faith in Jesus."
